Composition doll repair can range
from simple repairs to a complete restoration. Simple repairs include rebuildingdamaged doll parts, restringing
and craze control or repairing body parts like fingers, toes and other broken parts. A major or complete doll
restoration can include stripping the old finish, patching and filling, an iris transplant for crystalized, foggy acrylic
eyes, wig restoration or replacement and, of course, maybe new doll clothes.

1900's German Ball Jointed
Doll
Common issues with old dolls is that moisture gets into the seams, causing separation of finish and the underlying
structure. Often these paper mache type dolls are held together with staples, as is the case here, so the moisture causes
rust and joint separation.
