Although you can use the provided form to get a "quick estimate" of how much it might cost to repair
and restore your doll, in order to take advantage of our service you will be provided a complete written quote.
It is only after completion and written acceptance of this detailed quote that your project will move forward in the doll
repair and restoration process.
- The first step is a conversation, via email or telephone discussing your project in detail and
answering additional questions the client may have about our company and our experience.
- Discussion of the project follows with a detailed overview of the restoration process and how it relates
to your project.
- An essential part of an accurate quote for restoration is the physical examination of the doll. In order
for that to happen, the client is to photograph their doll in existing condition and send a copy of the photos, along with
the doll by insured USPS Priority or Express mail to Antique Child. The client should keep a copy of their photos, remove
the wig and clothing if they are not to be worked on and keep them.
- All shipping to and from is under the obligation of the doll owner.
- Upon receipt of the doll, a detailed examination will occur, including additional arrival photos.
- The quote for restoration will be tabulated and sent to the client for review.
- Each line item on the bid is to be authorized by the client, signified by the client’s initial on each
The client needs to keep a copy of the bid and send a signed copy to Antique Doll before any restoration can begin.
- At the completion of the restoration, the client will be notified. The doll will be returned
following payment in full.
- In the rare case that, after reviewing the bid, the client chooses not to move forward with the restoration,
the doll will be returned at the expense of the client.
